NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
we investigated the issue and turned out that there’s probably a problem in your local ISP – unfortunately we can do nothing for that. We can advice you retry with a VPN (i.e. using Opera browser).
NextFEM AdminKeymasterDear Jevon,
thanks for your contact. Actually our services are running fine and this is the first time we hear about the problem you encontered.
To help solving this, please tell us from where (which country) you’re connecting, we can involve our IT in this.
regards
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHi Stephen,
no, there’s no documentation on xml format as well, as it is easily readable. If you have some specific queries please write a mail to us or have a look at Devs’ manual (https://www.nextfem.it/it/help-support/) – it could be easier to transmit info via API than using XML of JSON format.
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
sorry no documentation on this, that option imports the same model as in XML format, but in Json. Contents must be the same, except that Json format can be written in a more compact (but less readable) way.
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
loadPackage has not been made for working directly in OpenSees shell, please use inside script. Anyway, rSpectrum has been tested only with procedure011.tcl included with NextFEM Designer.
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
for beam elements, the option “Second-order” includes only P-Delta effects.
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
thanks for your interest in NextFEM Designer. Unfortunately, Mises material is not currently applicable to beam elements, and it has been tested on shells and solid.
You can always transform the beam to shell elements by the command Edit / Extrude sections.
Pick a proper discretizazion lenght under Options/Solver tab/Mesh and output preferences box/Mesh size before to go.
Please find attached a sample screen. Then you can set the nonlinear analysis.
Hope this helpsEDIT:
I forgot to mention that the proper thickness has to be assigned to the generated shells.Attachments:

NextFEM AdminKeymasterHi Marcello,
thanks for reporting this. We’re constantly improving GUI settings also for font magnification over 100%. Initially, 100% would be required for installer, then it has been corrected and now it’s fully compatible.
In Designer, we’ll introduce the compatibility also for Model Data window in the next patch.regards
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
we’ll prepare a patch for this unexpected behaviour – we’ll warn you when released.
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
we have compression-only (hook) and tension-only (gap) springs that works even without license. FOr their characterization, please refer to https://www.nextfem.it/it/a-survey-on-non-linear-analysis-in-nextfem-designer-part-1/
Since they are free, you can use them in your NL analyses.
Let us know if you need further help.regards
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
the getMemberLength returns 0 because its argument must be a member (see https://www.nextfem.it/api/html/M_NextFEMapi_API_addMember.htm) and has nothing to do with a single beam.position1 and position2 are the initial and final position of loading. You can use 0 and nf.getElementProperty(beamID, “lun”).
NextFEM AdminKeymasterIn the attached image I see the checkbox just under the writing about privacy policy. By now we cannot reproduce your error, we suppose it’s depending on the system text size (e.g. 125%, which is default on 4k screens).
NextFEM AdminKeymasterHello,
we tested the installer and it behaves as expected.
You should see the following page, in which to accept both agreement and provacy policy in order to proceed.Attachments:

NextFEM AdminKeymasterDid you updated to v1.9.1.0? If not, update now – a patch is needed. Lite version won’t be updated.
In case you have trouble installing it, please download the full installer again.February 15, 2022 at 9:10 am in reply to: is import/export Abaqus INP format available in Lite versions? #4129
NextFEM AdminKeymasterThanks for the file – please note a loadcase is needed to export to ABAQUS format.
We’ll release a patch soon. The output is attached.Attachments:
