    Good morning,
I am trying to make a simple FEM model. A steel NL beam with intermediate node with concentrated load and nonlinear analysis to evaluate the formation of plastic hinge in the centerline. The software returns me the following error:

I also attach the calculation model.

What am I doing wrong ?
do you have any simple examples or tutorials for performing nonlinear analysis ?

    Thank you

    Hello,
thanks for your interest in NextFEM Designer. Unfortunately, Mises material is not currently applicable to beam elements, and it has been tested on shells and solid.
You can always transform the beam to shell elements by the command Edit / Extrude sections.
Pick a proper discretizazion lenght under Options/Solver tab/Mesh and output preferences box/Mesh size before to go.
Please find attached a sample screen. Then you can set the nonlinear analysis.
    Hope this helps

    EDIT:
I forgot to mention that the proper thickness has to be assigned to the generated shells.
