ParticipantAs I guess from analysis logs, it’s call Hinge for OpenSees such as external module by NextFEM. Attached an input files, only standard linear spring element being used. These features are basic common in standard structural analysis software, I’m in case took some comparison with OpenSees solver. May it will be some exception from Nonlinear module of NextFEM ? Thank you for respecting and kindliness.

ParticipantThank you for updating, but seems I did not succeed to updates using these commands. Only blipped display, no more info shown, restarting application and displaying version in About dialog menu’s given info as version 1.70p0
will downloading and reinstalling the programs make it works?

ParticipantThank you for interested such a features so the user does not need to be modified manually. seems reading result from RigidLink methods are working good for the graphic interfaces. Below is an output from modified tcl files by importing and perform analysis.

ParticipantDear Admin,
Thank you for explanation, the language menus make myself a little bit confuse. Looking an exported tcl files gave me an insight, it’s use equalDOF methods rather than RigidLink (beam) keywords. Differentiation about these two methods are lay on eccentricity being consider or not. A further implementation to switch of both methods in menus could be useful.
Regarding to modeling these condition using offset methods as recommended, still the bending moment due eccentricity being ignore by internal solver (OOFEM) or OpenSees.
Regards,

Participantseems work only using Oofem solver, but not for Opensees. it will cumbersome with editing manually inside text editor. would it be much better supports? thank for interest

Participantusing Lite version 1.20 p5 64bit has no problems in dividing beam/plane element, these problem occurs with the latest version (1.60/64bit). in the beginning it’s work properly for several times, did know why then happen.

Participantthank you for implementation DSS and Spooles in solver options, cut about half in real time consumed.
exiting in user time consumed when solved a plate problems with ~2000 nodes, it’s only required 17sec to solve with DSS compared to 477sec with standard solver.
but why not as in real time consumed?

Participanti look back, seem my previous model are wrong. when i try to merging coincided nodes there contains about 400 nodes but why the solver works?
i reproduce the problem, and taking compare OOFEM with CalculiX but still shown large discrepancy in computational times 1,16sec (P6200) vs 149.0sec (i5)

ParticipantThank you Admin for considering solver times, i believe it’s only a second when solved with CCX. afaik, most opensource FEA solver are well known beat faster compare to commercial solver.

Participantthank you for quick responsive, i’m in a basic review of NextFem capabilities. most of codes I use is US such as AISC LRFD and ACI318. just wondering why don’t provide a pages contain e-shop for these each plugin or features.
