    Hello.

Is it possible to connect a beam element to a floor meshing without splitting the beam element into segments? It would be useful to select and see results of the entire beam.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
thanks for your interest in NextFEM Designer!
As per Finite Element Method, this is not possible – mesh has to be consistent, which means that if you don’t mesh the line element, you’ll have shells only attached to corners.
You always see the results for the entire beam! Maybe you meant about checking – to consider the beams as unique during verifications, use members (Assign / Members).

    Thanks for your quick answer!
Actually I meant for viewing the diagrams. If its possible to see the values only for both extremities and mid-span, and also retrieve those values through the API.
    Thanks!

Press F3, you’ll see the options for turning on/off output stations.
    For APIs, see https://www.nextfem.it/api/html/M_NextFEMapi_API_getBeamForce.htm

    hello,

let i try to understand the feature above, known as physical based modeling. afaik, firstly invented by RISA then followed by many others such as ETABS, STAAD, RAM. can be benefit for designing the member (e.g steel unsupported length) and drafting (2D/3D) purpose. FE meshing and spliting based intersection are in another proccess automatically after physical objet being modeled.

    Hello,
in NextFEM we want user to have a more strict control on the modelling, that’s why we opted out to implement this feature in a plugin.
