hello,
concrete slab design by Wood-Armer methods is available since long. However, concrete shell design by three layered sandwich approach is not. It could be very much useful when available in the future, design of deep beam and complex 3D shell become possible.
best,
Hello,
thanks for your suggestion; if you tried with our scripting engine to compile a script for the so-called “sandwich” model for shell design, let us know and we’ll try to improve/implement it.
Btw, we considered to implement this in the past, but by now there’s no request from our paid customer for this, hence we suspended the development. Instead, we implemented the shear check for slabs into Concrete module.
hi attached manual hand calculations of concrete shell reinforcement, some verification also provided. Please consider to be implemented due to usefulness, thank you.
Hi, can you send it in this format?

i’m not yet familiar with NextFEM script language and needed to learn first (probably understandable), detailed of documentation can be found in SAP2000 or Code_Aster. My hand calculation still using oldest one, a newer has more complex due to iteration and shear checking.
Your script does the same thing as Wood-Armer moments do in NextFEM Designer. We already have such kind of checks in paid Concrete module.
well that’s great for Eurocode users, personally i tried to adapt or extent to conform American building codes.
