Tagged: Buckling
Hi!
I can’t find a way to calculate a mid lateral displacement of a simply supported column (hinge, hinge) with a load centered at the top.
Thank you in advance.
Thanks for your interest in NextFEM Designer.
Linear buckling analysis will be supported in the next version 1.07; in the version you have, such analysis is performed temporarily as a linear static.
Version 1.07 has been published today, you can retry the analysis with the new version. Best if you use line3 to model your beam, as you can read the lateral displacement you want directly in the node placed in the middle of the span.
If you already have a model made with a 2-node line element, you can convert it to line3 by the command Edit\Change element type …
Please find attached an example file.
