    Dear Administrator,

I import an OpenSees model into NextFEM and run the model. And NextFEM gives the solver log as the following picture, which shows that the model is not really executed and no results are output. So I would like to know where to find all the errors and warnings to let me check them clearly to correct them?

    Thanks a lot!

    Dear user,
I cannot find the attached picture, please provide it. Keep in mind that not all the features of an OpenSees model are imported by Designer, but only the ones listed in the users’ manual.
Mainly, you have to check if materials, sections and analysis data are correctly set and assigned.

To run the model with OpenSees, please modify the solver from Tools/Options/Solvers.

Thank you for your reply very much. Sorry that the picture was not attached successfully last time.
I have another question about the import function of OpenSees. According to the NextFEM Designer User Manual, the ElasticBeamColumn element is allowed to be imported. But the Elastic Section is not allowed to be imported. I think that they are self-contradictory. Don’t you think so?

ElasticBeamColumn can be imported but Elastic Section don’t, since it has nothing to do with that beam elements (the beam supports many sections). Anyway, I’ll put such features in our to do list.

EDIT: the OpenSees Elastic Section definitely cannot be read in Designer since the section shape and dimensions are not specified in the OS script. Moreover, there’s no associated material to it, since it has to be defined with E ang G.

EDIT2: material cannot be associated during reading, but in the next update such section will be imported as a rectangular equivalent. Thanks for your inquiry.
